The brain is the control center of the human body. It controls everything you do—thinking, moving, breathing, and even feeling emotions. Protected by the skull, it weighs about 1.4 kg (3 pounds) and contains around 86 billion neurons!

๐Ÿงฉ Main Parts of the Brain

1. Cerebrum

This is the largest part of the brain, divided into two hemispheres (left and right). It controls thinking, memory, speech, emotions, and voluntary movement.

2. Cerebellum

Located at the back of the brain, it helps with balance, posture, and coordinated movement.

3. Brainstem

The brainstem connects the brain to the spinal cord and controls involuntary functions like heartbeat, breathing, and digestion.

๐Ÿง  How the Brain Works

The brain works through a vast network of neurons—specialized cells that send signals using electrical impulses and chemical messengers called neurotransmitters.

These signals travel between neurons across tiny gaps called synapses, helping you think, feel, remember, and move.

๐Ÿงช Fun Facts About the Brain

Your brain uses 20% of your body’s total energy.

It never sleeps—even when you do.
